My name is Kelly Getz. I am currently a substitute teacher at Shenandoah Valley Elementary. I received my Master’s in Elementary Education two years ago after deciding to change career paths from the business field. This is my fourth year as a substitute, as I worked as a guest teacher while I was taking classes. I am currently pursuing the Reading Specialist certification and the ESL certificate. My district has a large ELL population, with which I have the privilege to work with daily at a variety of grade levels from Pre-K-6th. These certifications will help to make me a more effective teacher now as well as in my future classroom.
Besides teaching and taking classes, I have three wonderful children that keep my husband and I extremely busy!
